Allium cepa

Allium cepa is a great remedy for allergies. Imagine rubbing onions in your eyes. This remedy would help allergies where the nose runs and the eyes weep, are sensitive and itchy. Throat is red, dry and tight. Violent sneezing.

Allium cepa is a key remedy for either infectious or allergic coryza, aka “hayfever” (catarrhal inflammation of the mucous membranes of the nose). The person may be sleepy, find it difficult to concentrate, or feel foggy with the coryza.

  • Hay Fever
  • Eyes and nose run like a tap
  • Profuse bland discharge from eyes. (Acrid discharge is Euphrasia)
  • Acrid discharge from nose.
  • Sneezing fits
  • Irritating cough that will not stop
  • Throat, red, hot, dry and tight
  • Worse: warm room cold wind, wet feet
  • Better: Cool open air.

Also great for a reaction from chopping onions!
