Spongia
Spongia is a great cough remedy. For a dry barking croupy cough, hoarseness; think of swallowing a dry sponge. Weak chest. Swollen glands and sore throat. It’s so hard to breathe, you can barely talk.
Primary indicating symptoms:
- Barking cough, cough relieved by eating and drinking
- Hoarseness, clearing of throat, gasping with cough
- Larynx is dry, tight and burning, symptoms made worse by talking, singing or swallowing.
- The cough is dry and air passages are dry.
- Difficulty breathing; difficulty with breathing brings a fear of suffocation. Chest feels weak and it’s hard to talk.
- Bronchitis.
- Heart palpitations with bronchitis.
- Cough sounds like a seal, croupy cough wakes child at night. Cough is worse for talking or singing.
- Worse by inhaling (breathing in)
- Worse: Cold air, hot room, lying down, after midnight, exertion.
- Better for warm drinks.
- Better: Warm things, lying with head low, going downward.
