Bryonia
Bryonia is for a cough or headache or any situation where the person has lost the will to move but may be worrying about what they should be doing. For a splitting headache; a hard dry cough made worse by any motion. Stiff neck and back. This person wants to be very still and may be grumpy – think of a bear with a sore head.
Primary indicated conditions: Anger, backache, colic, common cold, constipation, cough, fracture, headaches, indigestion, influenza, measles, pneumonia, sprains and strains.
- Extremely irritable, grumpy.
- Symptoms worse for any motion, stitching pains.
- Dry mouth and lips, with thirst for cold drinks
- Worse at 9pm.
- Wants to go home and is sensitive to movement, even talking or coughing.
- Bursting splitting headache, worse for motion with pain over left eye. Dizzy when getting up from seat. May hold head to keep it from moving.
- Hard, dry cough, made worse by any movement. Motion or cough causes pain in chest and severe headache.
- Holds on to chest to keep it from moving during cough. Cough dry at night, pain from motion of chest.
- Neck stiff and painful, back painful with movement.
- Stomach and abdomen: Appendicitis. Large, hard, dry stool or gushing diarrhoea.
- Limbs: Joints red and swollen, also fractures that are worse for movement.
- Worse: warm rooms, moving eyes, coughing. Company.
- Better: Pressure on painful place. Lying on painful side. Being still.
- Food and drink: Thirst for cold drinks. Desire for meat. Worse: cabbage beans bread.
